Description

Across the surface of Shoal, ten thousand guns sound at once. The keen of laser beams build, punctuated by the staccato thrum of orbital landings. A choir of voices rises as the armies of the galaxy’s oldest and newest civilizations meet in battle. From the vast reaches of space, the chaos is almost musical—a symphony, drifting into the void.Cantata casts players in the role of a Commanding Officer of one of three factions - The 111th Reign of Harmony & Prosper, The Unified Spirit, and The People of Sun & Shadow - with the goal of assembling a formidable force and expanding their hold on this alien world of Shoal. One of the first in the emerging genre of Grand Tactics games, in Cantata players will take turns to not only manoeuvre units around the battlefield, but also build supply networks, generate resources, and take over territory, expanding the classic tactics formula to encompass a wide variety of different gameplay scenarios.

EXPAND YOUR BASE AND ARMY

Start with a small base of operations and crucial few units, and then bring your strategic vision to life via placing new buildings, managing your regions and expanding your ability to create more complex unit types. But watch out! Your base is also your supply network. If a crucial building or region gets destroyed, it may take down your whole supply chain and force you to adapt to new circumstances.

EXPLORE AN ALIEN PLANET

Every map holds secrets to seek out and find. You'll need to do proper recon to determine the best route across the landscape to your opponent, however; the planet of Shoal isn't one to let you idly move across its surface. Just like any other faction, the planet itself takes a turn every round, giving it the ability to fight back against the war on its surface with weather, fauna, and other mysteries.

COMPETE IN LOCAL & ONLINE MULTIPLAYER

With both local and online multiplayer now up-and-running, you can challenge friends and strangers alike across 1v1 and 2v2 scenarios (with custom online scenarios coming soon!). Enjoy the turn-based tactics goodness as you compete to claim regions, out-manoeuvre your enemies, and surprise them with your unexpected strategies. Unlike classic tactics games where the focus is on the battles, in Cantata you’ll have bases and supply networks to think about before rushing into battle, and be warned that the planet may not be so happy about you fighting for its resources
